Random photos of water in its natural environment. I also toyed around with some free presets in lightroom... this one had teal and orange vibes, which I liked.
I shot a roll of HP5 rated at an ASA of 400 at 800 at the recommendation of Nikita the other day at Gunstock while skiing, and honestly, I will probably continue to shoot HP5 rated at 400 at 800. Especially when it is overcast or the tones are flat. What I like about pushing the film a full stop is the contrast that it gave in return. The only sacrifice is that the size of the grain increases, but since I appreciate the look of high contrast, grainy, B&W images it is worth it. In the past when shooting HP5 my negatives have come out very gray, but with pushing the film I'm pretty much forcing contrast into the image which is cool. The images below range from getting ready to go to the mountain or being on the mountain.
A photographer who goes by the Instagram name @ioegreer popped into my recommended follow list one day. After scrolling through his feed I took a look at his YouTube channel, which was filled with videos about using different film stocks, film projects he is working on, and talks about commercial work he did with film. Whats cool about Joe is that he shoots 35mm for his street photography, but if it's anything else, he will always shoot medium format. Regarding his actual images, I love the colors that he achieves in his portraits, landscapes, and random photographs. The contrast he achieves between warm and cool tones is something I would like to achieve in my own work with color film or digital photography one day.
